Applications are accepted year-round. All interviews are held in-person at the JATC in Fairbanks.

The 2022 Deadlines to submit applications are:

• March 16
• June 1
• September 21
• December 7

Applications are accepted year-round, and application deadlines indicate the last day you may submit a complete application package and be signed up for the next round of interviews, typically held the week following the deadlines end. If you need interview dates to make your travel plans, please call the JATC (907) 456-5989.

The Interview Process

Most interviews take 10 to 20 minutes. Applicants will be interviewed by 6 JATC Committee Members.

After The Interview

Once an applicant has been scored by the interview committee they will be placed, according to their score, on the eligibility list for the classification for which they applied.
The applicant will be notified by e-mail of the score they received from the interview committee.
As work opportunities arise, candidates for apprenticeship will be selected from the eligibility list according to the AJEATT’s selection procedures approved by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Candidates will remain on the eligibility list for 2 years. Candidates are eligible to re-interview after 2 years, or after one year if they have done something to improve their qualifications (gained work experience in the industry, obtained a certification, etc.)
A candidate’s position on the eligibility list is likely to change as candidates are selected for apprenticeship or more applicants are interviewed.
